Louis Deveseleer I am wondering what it means excluding weights and bands. I understand that you can add them to any exercise with the sets parameters, but if you can’t add them to the exercise in the edit option wouldn’t it affect the filtering options? For example, if you can’t add kettlebell to an exercise how would it show in the search results of the kettlebell filter?

Pini Weights and bands will be added from the "Resistance / Assistance" section in the custom exercise. All equipment (from the equipment section and resistance/assistance) will be taken into account for equipment filters.

Louis Deveseleer Great! And thanks for the clarification! The up coming update looks amazing!

That makes sense, and it shouldn't be too much work to implement.
Adding that extra property to the custom exercises will be a slippery slope though, and I'll be tempted to also add properties for difficulty, muscles/joints movements (and their relevance) for strength and flexibility, cardio and balance aspects and neighbour exercises in the skill tree. Basically giving it the same shape as an official exercise, so that it can be included in your search results and suggestions.
So far I've avoided doing that because I wanted to focus on adding more official exercises, fulfilling user requests as they come, rather than making custom exercises more attractive. But adding official exercises is a time-consuming task and I can't keep up so well, so it might be good to make custom exercises "first-class citizens" in the app, to exploit them better and improve the experience.

Louis Deveseleer adding all the properties you mentioned would be super great. Adding an exercise officially is still a wonderful thing. Maybe adding the properties will make it feel as there’s no need to rush with adding the exercise officially, maybe it can “buy more time “ for adding the exercise officially. :)

Good idea IMHO. It'd also help with sending custom exercises to be added as more info is more better imho
