Trophies and rewards
ideas

Add more ways to increase the satisfaction of logging workouts and the motivation to keep going. All reward mechanisms should be linked to tangible achievements, so that getting the rewards is a sign of real training progress.
Ideas:
- Have levels associated with the experience points (a bit like Todoist's Karma levels: https://todoist.com/help/articles/introduction-to-karma-OgWkWy). The names should be different from the exercises' difficulty levels. Each level can have an icon, which would be displayed publicly beside the user picture, to get the social recognition of our hard work.
- Trophies for completed/mastered objectives.
- Trophies for logging xxx sessions.
- Trophies for completing/mastering xxx exercises.
- Whenever a new trophy is earned, show a popup with a fun animation and a congratulatory message.
- Streaks have been suggested (Duolingo is a famous example) but I'm not sure these are a good idea. The feeling of losing one's progress when you break a streak is not productive, and in reality taking a break is sometimes the best thing you can do.

Nothing to do with gamification, but I didn't know where to put it:
- improve the stat page. See the total calories burned, the average per day, the part of the body most trained per day, week, year...
- improve the profile page:
- no more reinforcement/post rehabilitation routine. Doing Thai boxing, I really enjoy the hip openings, knee health and shoulder and neck health routines, for warm-up and because I sometimes get injured. I think it can also be done for wrists and elbows.
- add niche workouts (perineum, kegel...)
- possibility to add outdoor training (running, swimming, cycling, boxing, soccer...)

- for the levels associated with points, we can imagine a small character who evolves, as was the case with games like kiwicool on Facebook (kiwe matelo, kiwi marine, kiwi captain, kiwi captain, kiwi admiral, kiwi admiral, kiwi sea master, kiwi sea master, kiwi sea, sea master, kiwi, sea master, kiwi, sea, kiwi, sea, sea, sea, sea, sea, kiwi,...), as was the case with kiwi poseidon... then we change the register kiwi sprawled couch, kiwi medite, kiwi yogi, kiwi captain, kiwi captain, kiwi admiral, kiwi admiral, kiwi sea, sea master, kiwi, sea master, kiwi, sea master, kiwi, sea, sea, kiwi, sea, sea, sea, sea, sea, sea, kiwi,...) well, you have to find a more related mascot than a Kiwi and make the visuals but with AI it's easy.
- for the XP evolution, we could also imagine an animation of our avatar who climbs a mountain little by little. If the visual is pretty it's nice.
- it would seem logical that there would be rewards/badges for contributors.
- reward the mastery of exercises and skills with badges on the profile.
- Reward regularity. I have read the comments and I know that we have to limit because rest is good too. We can imagine a “freeze” system, like on other games. 5 days in a row = 1 gel that allows you to do a day of exposure without stopping the series. Possibility to link this to the body's state of fatigue as well. 80% of the tired body = 1 gel valid the next day.
- We can even imagine a league system based on XP or on location with ranking (10k-20k xp league or Yvelines league)
- possibility of dueling against another user during a session. Whoever finishes the quickest. Or over 1 week the one who earns the most XP...
- Specific badges: early for those who train before 7 a.m., night owl for those who work out at 2 a.m., berserk for those who train when their body is tired, the total for those who have trained all parts of their body during the day or week...
- a system of gems in parallel with XP to customize the avatar of your profile or to buy gels for the series precisely.
- special badges for related disciplines (weight, yoga, martial arts...)

I would love that feature as well. I am a big fan of gamification and i think it would motivate a lot of people :-)))

YYEESS I'd love this!
I agree against streaks, It could happen to be travelling, to be elsewere or to need rest, but overall I'm really into Trophies.
I used to loved them on healt app (huawei) but they ened ruinining the experience.
At maximum I see the opportunity to evaluate as streaks when the user trains once (or twice)per week over a month: this allow more flexibility while could still invite to keep an active routine. (i underline the automatic reset after each month to avoid excessive pressure

Who sends a lot of custom exercises to be added oficially could have a trophie for it either.

While I don't think "streaks" are good idea in term of exercising every day, a streak of doing journey as planned without missing day or something along those lines.
Louis Deveseleer
Hubert Kowalski It makes sense! A difficulty with that, will be to keep track of when journeys were planned in the past (and not just the future). I'll have to see, when we work on improving the Reminders, if that is convenient to track (https://calistree.canny.io/requests/p/better-reminders)

Agree with most of the post. Gamification is a great motivator, and so are rewards.
Streaks, not such a good idea, especially when people are not varying journeys a lot. Overtraining is a real issue (says the person that tries to train 5 days a week)
